I haven’t been on in quite a while but I am hoping to get feedback on different Friends conceptions of God. I feel God is both male and female. Like ying and yang. The reason I embraced Quakerism was because it let me be free to encounter the Inner Light. Let me know what you think and share how you came to your understanding.

Christ's living appearance within me has drawn me out of the reflective nature and the process of conceptualization and into the Spirit's living immanent presence itself in itself. This motion of immanent presence is discovered (and is discovering to me) a different faculty than the reflective nature that is not of the nature of containment and is sufficient in itself. Such is my testimony to my living witness of Christ's immanent appearance in my conscience and consciousness.

God is also more than anyone's experience of God. It's not that we can contain God in a concept, but that we can't contain God by eschewing concepts either. The concepts do not contain God, but like our various flavors of experiencing God, point toward God beyond all that.

In "Secularization for the sake of religion" I pleaded to let go of concepts of ‘God’ in order to find divine experience and guidance.

If your concepts of God get underfoot, the best way forward is to pray for help in knowing God better.
