Hi Carole, in my opinion Neelon is strong on the history but quite weak on the theology. A good book on Nayler's theology remains to be written. Stuart.

Dear Carole, have you done any more work on Nayler? I have really mixed feelings about the new Neelon book. On the one hand it filled some important gaps for me in terms of context and pre-Quaker life but I found the treatment of Bristol and 'the women' frustratingly predictable (a largely uncritical acceptance of the Foxite account). I also disagree with Neelon about Nayler's post-Bristol position. I just don't see him as a spiritual individualist. I find your perspective much more interesting. Blessings, Stuart.

Here it is: http://www.quakerquaker.org/events/quaker-heritage-day-2010

I'd like to invite you and Bryan to an after party/dinner that evening, if you're up for it. We did that a couple times before, when Brian Drayton and before that Peggy Senger Parsons and Marge Abbott spoke, and it was both fun and an Opportunity. I will call Bryan and talk to him about it.

Robin, Go ahead and post it. Bryan and I are working on schedule and topics for a brochure. When we have that completed I can post a more detailed description.

I'm really looking forward to hearing you speak at Quaker Heritage Day in Berkeley in April. Would you like to be the one to post the event on QuakerQuaker.org or shall I go ahead?

Hi Carole: it's great to see you here! Just yesterday I was putting together a list of books by QuakerQuaker members and now I can add "Holiness"!
