Primitive Christianity Revived, Again
What we do in Quaker worship is we sit in silence. Ideally we wait for the Spirit of God to speak to us. Sometimes we feel that. If and when we feel that, we wait and question whether that message is to come from us out loud. Sometimes the answer is no: this is a message for you. But sometimes the answer is: this is a message that needs to be said. Ideally, a Quaker meeting quiet, punctuated only by those messages which can't be held back because they are so fervent and come from something deeper than ourselves.
