Primitive Christianity Revived, Again
During that meeting for worship, that hour of silence, with some spoken ministry, I just saw my whole life spread out in front of me. I saw a lot of things I didn't like and needed to be changed... That particular meeting for worship really hooked me: the power I found there and the clarity. The hour of quiet time with other seekers to ponder my life and where I was going and what I could be doing better.
One of the early quotes I read was by Swiss Quaker Pierre Serisol who talked about going to the top of a mountain and having an experience of God. That's consistently what it's been for me. I'll sit in meeting for worship and as I sink into it with the other Friends, it can move you to tears it's so powerful. I've been to many churches but I've never experienced the depth I've found in a Quaker meeting. I can't go very long without going: that's how power it is to me.
