Primitive Christianity Revived, Again
~Albert Einstein
This very Buddhist like quote reflects the thinking of many great thinkers, philosophers and religious leader over the centuries. We are all related, we are one. Science has backed this up with the discovery of DNA and gene sequencing. Genetically we are all related. If you go back in time we are genetically related to all mammals. Genetically speaking we are one more branch on the tree of life.
Quakers have a phrase that they use often when asked what the Quakers believe: "They believe that there is that of God in every man." George Fox, one of the founders of Quakerism used this reading from the Bible often; "that which may be known of God is manifest in man, for God hath showed it unto them" Romans 1:19.
I have pondered this idea often. A metaphor came to mind while thinking these thoughts about DNA and God; within each of our cells we carry DNA that is the blueprint for the generation of our entire selves. Think of God as the entire body of Life and each living being as a cell carrying that DNA of Life/God.
Happy New Year 2016 to all. May it be peaceful and productive for you. Thanks for reading This Speaks My Mind at RVJart.com. Your feedback and comments are always welcome.

If you're given a new metaphor for God that might help somebody get a grip on what that strange word "God" might mean, that's worth passing along.
When "God" showed up in one of Raymond Smullyan's dialogues, and was asked about 'His' place in the scheme of things, 'He' replied that rather than having a place in the scheme of things, "I am the scheme of things."
to find the reality of oneness and God's DNA one must get past one's obsession with the physical world and in particular one's physical body. The illusion is thinking of ourselves as these ape shaped beings with five senses instead of the "living souls" that God created with his breath and some dust. Souls consisting of a mind (consciousness-ability to know, think, plan), heart (ability to create) and spirit (ability to unite mind and heart). A triune being made in the image of God himself. Or maybe not.
May you have a blessed New Year.
