Tomorrow I will attend my 1st meeting in over 12 years.  I'm very excited!  I truly do not know what to expect.  There was no contact information for the meeting.  It is held at a Lutheran Church less than 10 miles away.  I recently discovered this meeting when I went to the Quaker finder directory.  Never saw it listed before.  They call it a *Worship Group*  I wonder how many Friends will be there.  I have longed to be with Friends for so long, I can't believe that I'm actually going.

I'm trying not to have any expectations and just roll with it.  I will check-in tomorrow and let you know how it went.

Namaste,

Stephanie

I belonged to a worship group for a couple of years. It was very small and very wonderful. Friends were very committed. Blessings, Friend!

Thwarted once again!!  I have been busy working in preparation of a 3 day stand down this weekend for homeless vets and couldn't get away to go to Meeting.  I now have to wait until the 1st Wednesday of the month.  Stay tuned!!

Keep trying. 30 years ago, I found my way back to Quakerism through a worship group forming in the town where I lived. Let us know how it goes.

I understand your excitement!  Tomorrow my husband and I will finally attend our first meeting in Barnesville, it's been such a long wait and being patient for an opportunity to go at times has been challenging.  There has been nothing but good words from others who attend the meeting and I am looking forward to meeting everyone. It has been difficult to find where one "fits" (as I heard another member here mention) and I have often felt like the cheese that stands alone in the little nursery rhyme lol.

I too will post about our experience.  I hope yours will be wonderful,  filled with the presence of the Spirit and with new friends.

blessings,

Deborah
