"Thanks for your response.  I was beginning to wonder if you'd read my posting.  I thought it was a private message by email, but since you answered publicly, I'll do so too.In my case, I had wonderful loving parents, a secure…"

Susan Furry commented on Mariellen Gilpin's blog post 'Choose Life'
"Thanks for the clarification about Dan Berrigan's words, Bill!  I agree with much of this posting but need to object strongly to the paragraph about the 12-step group.  As a "mental sufferer" (recurrent depression since…"

Susan Furry commented on Doug Bennett's blog post 'Homosexuality Among Friends [Request for responses below]'
"I can report that New England Yearly Meeting has been discussing the subject for years, both our own internal issues and attitudes, and our response to FUM's Personnel Policy.  Most of our monthly meetings have minuted their intention to…"

Susan Furry commented on Doug Bennett's blog post 'Five Snippets'
"I agree with Bruce Arnold.  You're preaching to the choir.  I don't know any logical arguments that will convince an atheist to believe in God.  Either you have the faith experience or you don't.  Similarly,…"

Susan Furry replied to Barbara Smith's discussion 'Why Light of Christ and not just the Light?' in the group Christianity
"Dear Barbara, Thanks for considering my comments with thoughtfulness and generosity.  For personal reasons I have kind of an allergy to Rudolf Steiner, but I love that comparison to gravity. Unfortunately, there indeed are Christians who will…"

"Thanks Barbara and all the Friends who have responded.  These are powerful testimonies. A Friend recently asked me why I need to speak of Jesus, why terms like Light or Spirit aren't enough.  My response was, because the Ineffable One…"

Sarah Rosemary Ann Zimmermann replied to Susan Furry's discussion 'What is salvation?' in the group Christianity
"Several things. There's the usual theological sense, sure. But practically, I truly believe in my redemption when I experience God's unconditional love through another human- when a friend or Friend is there for me in such a way that…"

Stephanie Stuckwisch replied to Susan Furry's discussion 'What is salvation?' in the group Christianity
"I just finished the book "Saving Paradise". The writers point out that the earliest Christian art did not include images of crucifixion. The mosaics showed images of resurrection, healing, the garden of Eden. That is salvation for me -…"

Richard Scott Wigton replied to Susan Furry's discussion 'What is salvation?' in the group Christianity
"   I grew up Presbyterian and was taught that God selects only certain people to be saved & the rest he damns to Hell. (Yes, that wonderful Calvinist theory.)   I could not accept such a callous, cruel God so I left the…"

Pat Pope replied to Susan Furry's discussion 'What is salvation?' in the group Christianity
