Greetings, F(f)riends, and my best to you all! I've attended a local programmed meeting in Portland, OR, and consider myself a liberal Friend. I'm pleased and encouraged to discover a challenging, authentic and diverse community of folks here, and am excitedly and gratefully finding a network of believers and thinkers whose views stretch, strengthen, hone and/or resonate with my own, which is gargantuan sigh of relief after years of wrestling with components of fundamentalist Christianity that couldn't seem to reconcile with my heart and spirit. I strive to live my life peacefully and with intention - an active testimony lived genuinely and excitedly for God, reflecting the way He continually speaks into my heart. I am thankful and eager to continue my pursuit of knowledge and understanding within the beautiful fabric of our multitextured faith.
I myself wasn't exactly raised "fundamentalist"-- but there's still been an awful lot of "Christian" doctrine that I really had to ask God about. Evidently was thought up by frightened people. God doesn't seem to be any worse than human beings; is even (if I have this right) considerably better!
