"A Good Quaker is Hard To Find"

The blog post that was sharing around today by Johan Maurer touched me on a deep level. One of my personal tenants of my faith has been to "die unto yourself everyday". Which I interpret to mean that every morning I must rise out of bed being humbled and needing to be aware of how much I don't know about how much I do not know. In my marriage, my mothering, my faith, and the world around me. My frustration on my path in Quakerism is this struggle to accept that the current Quaker think ( At…See More

Raising Quakers

I make it a point to thank each kiddo for coming to Meeting for Worship with Chaz and I every Sunday. I point out individual moments of joy and proud moments I observed as they interacted with Friends.I can't say that we wouldn't "make" them come if we felt they were skipping it too regularly BUT I do think it gives them ownership of their own responsibility to participate. Tonight when I thanked W for coming today I added that even though it might not be the most fun time ever for him, it…See More

About Me
Married to a birthright Quaker, Attender of Medford Meeting, and the humble secretary and fire putter-outer of the office at Medford Meeting.

I have a blog but it it's only in my head because really, most of this stuff shouldn't be said aloud much less written as permanent record.
