Profile Information

About Me
Discended from German, Pennsylvania Quakers. Then grew up in the "No name church" or "2x2's". As an adult I walked away from that. I had my relationship with God, and went to Christian churches. I just wanted to find others who believed as I did for fellowship. I searched in most any denomination that is available today, and still did not feel I had "found my people". This went on from the time I was 22 until 40 years of age. God then brought me full circle, not only to my physical roots but also to my spiritual roots and I began to understand that I was truly Quaker.

I generally share from my own experience. I am no theologian and do not profess to know much. (In fact as I grow with the Lord I feel I know less and less!) And as I grow even my own opinions may change, they certainly have in the past.

So, I am afraid people must take me as I am. A simple child of God.

Hi Nanna Kapp,

I have not been on QuakerQuaker for a while, but read that you are also a quite isolated Friend on the East Coast.  I am also would very much like to align myself with Conservative Friends, but there are none in my area.  I have no idea if I am near you-I am in NJ, but near the Pa border.  There is a liberal meeting here that I did attend that had some like minded Friends in it and I've also been out to Keystone a few times which I loved. It is just too far for me to travel.

I also have difficulty getting out in the winter due to an autoimmune illness that requires that I be in a high humid environment.  So, I spend all of the winter, really at home on First Days and miss fellowship.  My husband attends a non-denominational church nearby so at other times of the year, I do try to visit there with him and the liberal meeting, but my heart still longs for a Conservative group nearby....I do the best I can do, but find most the time I end up in waiting worship quietly myself at home on Firstdays.  Do you still continue that practice in your home?

I would enjoy getting to know you and have just found your blog and will enjoy taking a look there.

Blessings and Peace,

Jan Lyn

The heat has been challenging but it is a blessing in disguise as it has forced us to put down all but the absolutely necessary things for daily life. How often this happens in life that God uses something which is unpleasant to us to lead us into the most pleasant things his spirit has to offer.

Peace to all,

Nanna Kapp
