Purpose and Reason

I am new to all of this. I thank you all that I can be a part of this. Everyone that has posted has been a true blessing to me. I'm in the process of becoming plain and simple. My reasons are plain and simple in themselves. I have lived in this world for 50 years. To be honest, I do not feel as though I'm a part of it. About Me
25 years ago I read "A Short and Easy Method of Prayer" by Madame Guyon. As a result of Madame Guyons teaching I came to experience the presence of God. At the time I was attending a fundementalist church where this type of experience was not well received. As the years passed I read other books, one of which was "The Way of a Pilgrim", an Eastern Orthodox classic that teaches how to pray without ceasing. I then attended an orthodox church with the hope that others there would also be seeking this same closeness with God. It was a dissappointment and was not "part of the program". Then through a series of events I was led to the Quakers. I was overjoyed to find others who shared my same beliefs and experiences and not only was it accepted but was encouraged!
