23.04.2012 Worshiping in Kabarak + 23.04.2014 living my faith with Christian Peacemaker Teams

This morning I posted 2 status updates on my QuakerQuaker page, the 1st:

"Two years ago today, 23.04.2012, whilst at World Gathering of Friends in Kabarak, Kenya I realised I was a convergent Friend."

I am Friend through convincement, a Christian from the mystical tradition but I also love working ecumenically, and doing out-reach work.

In Kenya 2012, I met several flavours of Friends and saw how much I shared with Conservatives (without being one)…

Expectant waiting - Ripley Quaker Meeting (Conservative)

Posted on 2nd mo. 22, 2013 at 4:31am 1 Comment

17/02/2013 I worshipped with 5 (6?) others in expectant waiting with the conservative flavour of Friends. Although, I found it hard to settle initially because I had not come to worship with my heart and mind fully prepared.

There was however a "brief" period of where I lost sense of time and was gathered and felt the presence. Although not moved to minister, I did think about how am I being "Salt" at the moment (Matthew 5) . A few days later I still cannot answer that… Continue

Hi! Thanks for finding the name of the Icelandic guy, I really appreciate that :-) Our Meeting for Worship is now up-and-running in Reykjavík, so I'll try to track him down and see if he's still interested :-) All my best wishes and in Friendship - David

"Yes, I've noticed that the tendency for Quakers here in England is quite progressive. NOT that I want to return to my conservative Baptist days, but more focus on the reason for Quaker's existence. :-)"

Hello Christopher, I am smiling as I accept your invitation and remember your joyous play with children in the Turkana region and your lovely singing voice.  I am delighted to be your Friend.

Hello, Christopher!

Willkommen im die HERR Jesu Christie!

Thank ye for accepting our Friend Invitation. Sorry I write and speak in a foreign manner or I should say an obsolete way. I know a wee bit of German, PA German, Scots Brogue, and middle English with the olde spellings as well. Hope I do not confuse thee much. I hope and trust to be a good Friend unto thee.

Blessing to thee.

Timothy

Hello, Christopher!  I think I remember you from a discussion list some years ago: Dry Clean Only?  Were you in northern Germany at that time?
