Outreach ~ Can our weakness be our strength?

Dear Friends: One of the challenges with outreach is the fact that being a Quaker is not easy.  Let's face it.  Quakers do things the hard way.   Our decisions require consensus (or unity, or sense…Continue

"Jon: Thanks for trying this app.  Martin also pointed out the contrast in the upper left corner.  My plan is to fix that and then publish on the Android market place (now called the "Play Store").  But I have been snowed…"

"I have used the larger version of the widget, which displayed the quote. I enjoyed reading the sayings each day. I then re-sized the widget to the smaller icon, which you have to open to read. I actually like it better because you get the saying…"

"Oh yeah,  after you bring up the full quote (touch on medium size) try the menu key.  It will bring up more options.  "

Help test QuakerApp on Android phone

I have written an Android Quaker Application and am looking for Friends to help test it. The App is really a "Widget".  When installed and configured it will display a quote from George Fox (for each day of the year) on your phone. Before I put it on the official Android market place I would like to have a friendly audience run it through its paces.  If thee is intrested and has an Android phone thee can download and install it by entering the following URL into thy phone's browser (or browse…See More

Profile Information

About Me
Technically, one might call me a birthright Friend. I prefer the term congenital Friend (embracing both definitions at http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/congenital).

Raised in a liberal friends’ tradition, today I find myself a full member of both Philadelphia Yearly Meeting and Ohio Yearly Meeting. I first encountered Ohio’s consistently deep worship in my mid 40s. That experience taught me to keep Christ at the center. But I have also realized that the inclusive and tender culture of my childhood is not at odds with OYM’s unwavering focus on Christ. They are integral parts of the same animal.

My membership is with Marlborough Monthly Meeting of PYM and Keystone Friends Meeting of OYM. Both communities are precious to me.
