Primitive Christianity Revived, Again
Comment
Comment by Timothy Bruffy on 7th mo. 25, 2012 at 10:57am I hope to get back there soon myself. It has been a while since I have seen the meetinghouse and the interior. As a child, I often wondered what the people were like that gathered to worship there. At that time, I knew nothing of the Friends.
I always thought it seemed rather sad, that some of the people, which had built the meetinghouse, couldn't begin anew—afresh—and start again their meetings. I hope too that sometime, Friends may once again, gather for worship again.
We visited the Lynchburg meetinghouse site a year ago with the Freeds. Next time we hope to get a key and tour the inside of the building. We hope that someday Christian Friends will once again worship there. In the meantime, thanks to the Presbyterians, the meetinghouse is still there, and has been restored as close to its original condition as possible.
