Primitive Christianity Revived, Again

For the past two weeks, at least fifty five women have been on hunger strike at Yarl's Wood detention centre in Bedfordshire, England in protest at inhumane conditions of women and children seperated from their mothers. I urge Friends to follow the links and the news coverage to stay informed. Limited time today as putting an article together for the Friend.

There is another demonstration in London today in solidarity with the women and children. See also a discussion on the popular woman's hour programme (I've put the link on my blog so international readers can hear it). The programme features representatives of the Home Office and Human Rights Watch who published a report this week which details how the fast-track asylum process is failing women and their families. See also the work of the Quaker Asylum network on this. All of interest I hope to Friends internationally and anyone working on border-related issues, children and improvement of their circumstances - and justice. Best,
Frances
