Primitive Christianity Revived, Again

ou know, the tide is rising and the climate is warming. Time is on the side of apathy, and hope is on the side of change.

People, from what I have seen in my travels around the US, are wide open for new approaches and more satisfying realities, including in the spiritual dimension of many folks' lives. Many live the testimonies of Quakers not knowing that Quakers exist. Can we welcome them to our communities?

This is an ideal climate for outreach.

If we as Quakers are not "visible, accessible and welcoming" are we walking cheerfully over the world, answering that of God in everyone?

George Fox, in his journal, wrote:

"This is the word of the Lord God to you all, a charge to you all in the presence of the living God; be patterns, be examples in all countries, places, islands, nations, wherever you come; that your life and conduct may preach among all sorts of people, and to them. Then you will come to walk cheerfully over the world, answering that of God in every one; whereby in them ye may be a blessing, and make the witness of God in them to bless you: then to the Lord God you shall be a sweet savour, and a blessing."

Are we, the followers of this list-serve, being patterns and example for Outreach?

Please share your stories, successes, and challenges.

Everyone would like to hear more about the places where Quaker Quest meets the pavement. How is it going? How can it be supported, enhanced or amplified?

Thanks Allen. I'm thinking about the sermon on the mount, it's what I'm reflecting on this Sunday for meeting for worship. As you know it is the pattern we're called to, just trying to see how my life can be actually re-oriented around it better.
Hi,

I am really trying to find connections through this site. I am out here on the west coast and don't even know if there are any Quakers witin a hundred miles let alone where there might be a meeting. I think I fit best in the conservative camp as my relationship with Christ is central to my experiance. I am still to young in my walk with Him to engage with those who are really confused. I'm still half confused myself!

Do you by chance have any idea where I might find any information along these lines?

Sheila
Hi Sheila,

I suggest you start with the Quakerfinder.org website and see if that can connect you with Friends in your area. There may be a meeting nearby or you may be an "isolated friend".

Also, feel free to call me at 435.658.3666. I will be interested in speaking with you.

Allen
Thank-You so much:)
I will check this out and let you know what I find.

Sheila
I found some:)

God Bless You

Sheila
