Primitive Christianity Revived, Again
A Beach In Futureland
Green sky, purple water
warm as a stinking bathtub; it's so good
we've lived to see this! So many people
made it to work, to the store, to the game
even got to see Venice
before it all went under.
Some day, they say
the rocks will clear the air
of deadly rotten-egg stench
(I wonder what an egg was)
and it will get cold somewhere;
water will get cold, they say
and hard. The last carp
will seed the oceans
and someday return to the land.
What do they mean, cold?
(I know what heat is.)
