DESCRIPTION:Gather with other Quaker families for a weekend of inspira
 tion, support and community as we reflect on raising Quaker children i
 n an often unFriendly culture. Our time together will feature a Saturd
 ay workshop for parents, family activities in the evenings, and a chil
 dren’s program on Saturday reveling in the beauty of Woolman Hill. O
 ur special guest will be Pat Weitzman, a Wellesley Friend, development
 al psychologist and parenting coach, and mother of two teens. Our pare
 nt workshop will be built around Pat's sense that if the Quaker Testim
 onies are woven into the core of our family relationships, our childre
 n will be in the best position possible to meet whatever culture prese
 nts. Pat gathers with us not so much as an expert but as a Quaker pare
 nt facing the same challenges. We’ll balance the search for family-b
 y-family solutions with the broader, bolder dream of creating “a Qua
 ker cultural alternative.\"\n\nBeth Collea and Pat Weitzman, both of W
 ellesley Meeting, MA, will be joined by other parents and members of t
 he New England Yearly Meeting (NEYM) Christian Education Committee in 
 leading this workshop. The children’s program will be led by Emily G
