Residential Gathering of the Ripley Quaker Group at Old School House, Yealand Conyers

 

8th – 10th of Seventh Month 2011

 

 

Dear Friends,

 

The Ripley Quaker Group, would like to invite you to our Residential Quarterly gathering at the Old School House, Yealand Conyers, from the 8th to the 10th of 7th Month, 2011.

 

The purpose of this gathering is primarily for worship, nurture and fellowship, and there will be periods of worship and other activities.

 

 

 

Date of Gathering: 8th to the 10th of 7th Month, 2011

 

Location: Yealand Conyers Old School House is located next to the Friends Meeting House on the right hand side of the road leading through the centre of the village. Yealand Conyers is north of Carnforth, where there is a railway station connecting to Lancaster.

 

Accommodation: Accommodation will be the Old School. Mattresses will be provided, but anyone attending will need to provide their own bedding/sleeping bags. Or, if preferred, attendees can organise their own B+B accommodation.

 

Cost: There will be a charge of £50.00 to cover accommodation and food. Non-residents may offer a donation toward the food for the weekend.

 

 

Programme for the weekend

 

Sixth Day (8th):

 

Arrivals: After 5:00. Evening food available to Friends as they arrive.

 

8:30:  Introductions/ Announcements, etc.

 

Seventh Day (9th):

 

10.30: Untimed Worship

 

1.00: Light buffet lunch

 

2.00: Study of Early Friends Writings

 

5.00: Supper/Tea

 

7.00: Reading and sharing the scriptures after the manner of conservative Friends

 

 

 

First Day (10th)

 

10.30: Untimed Worship in the Old School House

 

1.00: Lunch
