Event Description

Please spread the word! "In Jesus' Name," the second annual gathering of Christ-centered Friends in the Northeast is to take place Labor Day Weekend (Friday 9/3 - Monday 9/6/2010) -- for both the committed and the curious. Childcare available with advance notice.

TO TAKE PLACE AT POWELL HOUSE, NEW YORK YEARLY MEETING’S RETREAT AND CONFERENCE CENTER,
524 PITT HALL ROAD, OLD CHATHAM, NY 12136.

This second annual gathering of Christ-centered Friends from the Northeast is planned as a sequel to the Powell House gathering of August 28-30, 2009, whose epistle “to Friends everywhere, and to all who seek love, joy, hope, and meaning in life” read in part: “Knowing that language and doctrinal notions have caused unnecessary divisions among people of faith, we have no desire to add to these, but simply to stand with Jesus Christ at an open door, where He offers His light and love.”

Fee: $200. For campers on the grounds: $100.

Efforts are being made to help make attendance affordable to anyone who wishes to be present. Donations to a scholarship fund may be sent to Powell House, attn: Ann Davidson, with “Labor Day Weekend” on the memo line.

For more information contact John Edminster, Planning Committee Clerk: john.edminster@gmail.com.
